Mavis Pittilla is celebrated as a pioneer of mediumship, her work spanning two centuries, saw her experience mediumship in the 70’s where protestors in churches claimed it was witchcraft, to a period of technology, and social media, which enabled spirit communication to be experienced across the world instantly.

Prior to her death in August 2022 Mavis, and Jean, her wife of twenty three years, trained a number of their mentorship students to teach, utilising her knowledge, and methods, in other words, “Mavis’s ways.” that of “The Whole Medium,” combining spirituality, and the mechanics of mediumship.

Since her death, Jean has compiled an extensive recorded library of Mavis’s teachings, inspiration and demonstrations.

The Academy teachers are able to utilise this library of materials, and alongside their own mediumistic abilities, they teach, and train, new mediums or help developing mediums to enrich and expand their knowledge and skills.

Mavis firmly believed that to be of service to the spirit world, fully developed mediums are essential, they need to understand themselves, the spirit world, and what real communication means.

It is with this in mind, that the Academy has been created, to honour Mavis, but more importantly to continue to ensure that her extensive legacy of mediumistic and spiritual knowledge, and outstanding practice, is shared and developed in other aspiring mediums.
